FATES - Olivia & the House of Cards
Image with cards and Westbahnstrasse background.

Olivia shows the dilemma of futuristic tear-harvesting for population control. Human emotional tears contain a natural morphine (named after Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams) and empirically, women regulate emotion more than men, so in this future, their tears are stronger. The conflict of emotional release with pain depression is embodied by the nun. If society was controlled by a female bi-product, what kind of commodity would a woman become?
